01 / The story

Begin with a working composition.

Motion Studio began with experiments using the components of an existing design system. The question grew from making one reel to keeping individual motion treatments editable and reviewable.

Remotion supplies the current composition, timeline and rendering surface. The repository retains the source assets and the studies made from them.

02 / The story

Different forms, different behaviour.

The current studies include Hugh’s walk, a pinching grid, a surface that lifts and dips, and shutters that turn from outlines to filled faces. Their timing and parameters remain available in the source.

These are authored motion studies. A scripted demonstration of an interaction is identified separately from a recording of a person’s gesture.

03 / The story

Keep the experiment editable.

The wider product question concerns reusable motion recipes, source intake and the preservation of accepted states. Those capabilities are still being explored.

Motion Studio is a separate project from Studio’s earlier audiovisual-production workflow. Its current evidence is the editable compositions and retained renders.
